Shelters Save! is a program designed to provide on-site assistance and support to animal shelters facing challenges, crises, or struggling to meet their life saving goals. By providing training, resources, and hands-on support, HPA! aims to increase the lifesaving capacity of shelters. Shelters Save! also connects shelters throughout the Greater Houston area with HPA!’s team of experts who specialize in various areas related to shelter management, operations, volunteer and fostering programming, animal care, fundraising, and community outreach.

Houston Pets Alive!’s Shelters Save! program is helping more pets from under-resourced shelters find loving homes through collaborative adoption events across the Houston area.
Best Friends Animal Society recently highlighted the impact of this initiative, sharing how Shelters Save! connects shelters with low foot traffic to high-visibility adoption events, giving their pets the opportunity to meet adopters they might never otherwise reach.
Through these partnerships, more animals are being seen, adopted, and given a second chance at life.
