Recently, we rescued three dogs from a partner shelter, each in heartbreaking condition—nearly hairless, with raw, painful skin and open sores caused by sarcoptic mange. Just days later, we saved a fourth dog with the same severe skin issues.
Sarcoptic mange, a highly contagious disease caused by mites burrowing under the skin, leaves dogs in agony with relentless itching, hair loss, and raw patches. These four are in dire need of intensive treatment, specialized care, and time to heal. While we don’t know the full extent of their conditions yet, the expected costs to bring them back to health are estimated at $5,000 for ongoing specialized and essential medical treatments, surgeries, and round-the-clock care.
These sweet dogs will need to be with us for an extended period of time as they recover, and we simply can’t do it alone. If you’re able, please consider making a gift to help us provide them with the comfort, care, and healing they deserve. Your support will truly be life-changing for these four dogs.
Thank you for being there for them.
